Carl passed away today August 5th, 2011 with all his family present. It has been such a difficult time for Mona who has spent night and day the last three and a half months with Carl. He suffered a great deal and was in a lot of pain. Because of the pain his medications kept him on the confused side but he broke the monotony for Mona and family with comments that will be talked and chuckled at for a long time. (I can relate from my last knee surgery) But I know it was a relief to the family to know he will not suffer any longer.
I spent a couple of nights at Mona's trying to be a support to her. Administering medications was confusing at best, but we talked each other through it and after the first time it was easier. I saw on her white board a drawing that Coby has drawn. It was a picture of his Grandma Mona with a cape and a capital M on the front. It said "Grandma is my hero." I agree with Coby, Mona is my hero. She is a wonderful sister, grandma and mother. I love you Mona and
