Sent to me

These thoughts were sent to me by my good friend Joyce. Here are a few:

Life isn't fair but it's still good.
When in doubt just take the next small step.

Life is too short to waste hurting anyone.
Your job won't take care of you when you are sick, but your friends and family will.
Stay in touch.

Cry with someone, it's more healing than crying alone.
It's okay to get angry at God, he can take it.
When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
It's okay to let your children see you cry.

Everything can change in a blink of an eye. But don't worry, God doesn't blink.
Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.

When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, use your best china and go ahead, eat with your fingers.
Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age.

No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
Always choose life.
Forgive everyone everything.
What other people thing of you is none of your business.
Time heals almost everything give time time.
However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
Believe in miracles.
God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or did not do.

Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it.

Your children only get one childhood.

Get outside everyday. Miracles are happening everywhere
-and-

All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

  1. Hi Barbara:

I think about you every day, hoping that you are okay. Thank you so much for your blog. It kept us (in SLC) well-informed about Mike. The love you and Mike shared is a tribute to both of you and will last for eternity. Thanks for sharing your life with us.

I hope you and your kids are doing well, and that the sweet memories will always be there for you to draw upon.

So sorry we live so far away and can't be there for you, but just know that you are loved.

    Miss you so much!
    Joyce
